Winter Review Roundup

Posted on Posted in Awards, News, Reviews

This winter Lezyne got a whole lot of media attention that’s for sure. Among those, our Super GPS was labeled an “essential” to have on every ride and our GPS Watch was considered to be an ultimate gift for mountain bikers (or any cyclist, hiker or runner we’d add). In the season of shorter days our LED head and taillights were highly praised by top media outlets and two pumps, a saddle bag and a mini tool were called the “best for cyclists.”

SUPER GPS – (TOP 5 GPS COMPUTERS IN THE WORLD) BIKERADAR

“All the basic metrics are here, plus features many of us appreciate like incoming call and text notifications…You what is slick? The battery life percentage indicators for all your peripherals…executed here better than anyone else has done. Lezyne recently integrated TrainingPeaks and Today’s Plan too, so users of those platforms can easily follow their workouts to the T…You can easily set up each of your screens with the app. Super easy, Lezyne.” -Ben Delaney of BikeRadar

SUPER GPS – MTBR

“The Lezyne Enhanced Super GPS exudes heavy duty durability and top end functionality with minimal buttons. Honestly, I typically do not take to change quickly, but this display is familiar and intuitive to anyone who owns or has owned other cycling GPS units. Simple buttons, crafted from soft rubber are easy to push on rides with full fingered gloves. A dedicated background light button helps ease illumination, but is not needed to conserve battery life.

And the Lezyne Super GPS battery life is like no GPS unit I’ve used for training. A full charge will last for nearly 24 hours. I have yet to run down the head unit fully but in all honesty, I’ve only charged it a single time with many cold weather rides. That extended battery life is a massive benefit over similar GPS computers, which regularly max out at 13 hours in warm weather. Long battery life is a bonus for riders like myself who routinely forget that electronics require charging…

Riders looking for clean and straightforward tracking look no further. Lezyne Enhanced Super GPS offers much for a low asking price and delivers steadily. For any riders looking for a classic design GPS unit that will track all essential data without riding cell phone on your bars, this is your unit. Small enough to hardly notice but big enough to follow turn by turn directions. No excuses for not tracking your rides or metrics, as you can get Lezyne Enhanced Super GPS Fully Loaded for 75% price of lesser units.” -Jordan Villella of MTBR

SUPER GPS – (WIL’S TOP 5 TRAIL ESSENTIALS THAT COME ON EVERY RIDE) SINGLETRACK MAGAZINE

“Aside from its customizable display that allows you to put what info you want on the main screens, I like that the Super GPS is recording my ride without need for a mobile phone. GPS tracking tends to suck battery life out of smartphones, and on longer rides, that can be a real problem. Rather than do that, I let the GPS track the ride for me (with its 22-hour battery life), which means I can leave my phone on low-power mode, or better yet, not ride with it at all.

Sometimes that isn’t wise though, particularly if you’re riding solo (or on work time…), and in these cases it’s a good idea to sync your phone with the GPS, and turn on alerts. If you get a call, email or text message (from an irritated boss), it’ll cleverly show up on the screen in front of you. You don’t have to use this function, but I quite like it, and especially for those rides that go just a little longer than planned.” -Will Barrett of Singletrack Magazine

“Only a few years ago, a light this size putting out 1,100 lumens would have been inconceivable. But now the power to blind car drivers just as much as they blind you can fit in the palm of your hand. The LED light is housed in a machined-aluminum body that is said to dissipate heat. The light has seven different modes ranging from Femto at 15 lumens and an 80 hour burn time, to Overdrive at 1,100 lumens and a one hour and 15 minute burn time. Strap on the optional Infinite Light Power Pack and that time is bumped up to 240 hours on low or three hours 20 minutes on high.” -Logan Watts of Bikepacking.com

“Bottom line, the Lezyne Lite Drive 700XL uses a mix of practical lumen output, user-friendliness and stow’ability that I found fantastic in an all-around bicycle light. The 700 lumens output is an adequate amount of light to confidently go out into the woods or hit some logging roads. A mix of old world mountain style and new world tech make this light design unique and eye-catching.” -Jordan Villella of MTBR

STRIP DRIVE PRO 300 – GRAVELBIKE.COM

“The Strip Drive Pro’s durable co-molded lens and body house five high-output LEDs, and the light’s USB charging stick is protected by a removable dust cover. Whether your bike has a round or aero seatpost, the Pro’s flexible mounting strap is both secure and easy to use (even when wearing heavy gloves)…If daylight visibility is a concern, the Strip Drive Pro’s 300-lumen day-flasher is one of best I’ve found. It’s so bright that you might be tempted to use it at night, but for your fellow riders’ safety, stick to one of the night-flash modes instead.” -Gravelbike.com

“When I got my hands on the Laser Drive from Lezyne, I couldn’t help but be excited by the presence of the two laser strips that project onto the road, providing a safety guideline for other road users…The Lezyne Laser Drive is a fantastic little unit that maximizes your chances of being seen with excellent disruptive flashing light modes, along with the added lasers that help to create, effectively, a ‘safe zone’ around you while riding. Throw in easy fitting to a wide range of seatpost styles, the convenience of USB charging, light weight and decent battery life, and it’s a very well-rounded rear light.” -Ashley Quinlan of Road Cycling UK

RAP-20 TOOL – (THE 9 BEST MULTI-TOOLS FOR CYCLISTS) BICYCLING MAGAZINE

“This aluminum and steel multitool is designed to be ultra-small (driver’s license size) and light. A bottle opener (and MTB-specific spoke wrenches) make this a great choice for a mountain biker, but that doesn’t mean it’s small in terms of features: it has T25 and T30 Torx wrenches; a disc brake wedge to re-open brakes that accidentally get squeezed while in transit to the trails; a Phillips and flathead screwdriver and 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8mm hex keys for quick adjustments; a chain tool; Mavic MTB, 3.22 and 3.45 spoke wrenches; and tire levers.” -Molly Hurford of Bicycling Magazine
