The Col Collective on the Col du Glandon

The Col Collective on the Col du Glandon

The latest Col Collective video, the beautiful (but beastly) Col du Glandon is now online here. Anyone that may be taking part in L’Etape du Tour in 2015 is really in for a treat (check out the last few km’s, this is what bike riding is all about) or if you’re simply visiting the Alps to bag some mountains then this has to be close to top of your list.

Once upon a time there was a guy who though it would be fun to ride 677km non-stop from Évian-les-Bains to Nice across the heart of the Alps. 11 hours from the start and with 250km in the legs all seemed to be going ok, until he hit the latter slopes of the Glandon and suddenly beauty turned into the beast within. The wind funnels downs from the top of the mountain as the gradient kicks up and hangs above double figures for what seems like forever. However, don’t be put off by my lunacy the Glandon may have made me hurt so very much in the past but it’s also one of the most enchanting mountains I’ve ever experienced and for that reason I find myself continually coming back for more. There are moments when you’re barely moving and then suddenly, as you approach the summit, you can feel pure life being inhaled back into your lungs. It’s as if the mountain gods have taken a ribbon of tarmac and thrown it out of the sky from 2,000 metres to form a 20km playground of pure escapism. Now that’s the sign of a truly special climb.

  • Start: Saint-Étienne-de-Cuines
  • Length: 19.7km
  • Summit: 1,924m
  • Elevation gain: 1,441m
  • Average gradient: 7.3%
  • Max gradient: 11%

Interbike Outdoor Demo 2014 with Jenson USA

The first two days of Interbike 2014 were spent out in the desert at Outdoor Dirt Demo, where retailers got the chance to test out the latest in bicycle technology in the environment it was made for. We had a booth set up amongst the many others that participated, of course, featuring our new products for Year 8! Bicycle retailer Jenson USA came out to see what’s up, and stopped by our booth. Our own Michael Drabousky was on site to show them what’s new with our floor pumps, namely our Alloy Drive, CNC Floor Drive and Classic Drive which have been upgraded with new 3.5″ gauges! Check out the video below!

Pushy’s Reviews the Steel Digital Drive

Pushy’s Reviews the Steel Digital Drive

Australian retailer Pushy’s had some positive things to say about our popular Steel Digital Drive! The Lezyne Steel Digital Floor Drive is a high pressure digital floor pump that features a machined steel barrel and piston, a varnished wood handle, and an aluminum base. It is equipped with an extremely accurate Digital Gauge, ball/bladder adapters, and an ABS Flip-Thread Chuck streamlined with an extra long, nylon-reinforced, braided hose with aluminum connectors to easily reach both Presta and Schrader valves. The included Speed Chuck makes this pump compatible with disc wheels. The barrel is treated with a substantial matte paint job to achieve a finish that is both durable and stylish.

“We all know there’s those handy little digital gauges out there, but you need to pump your tires, and then check them. So why have two steps when you can have just one? Lezyne’s approach to design and manufacturing is flawless, and I think we can all safely say it’s also very attractive. This particular pump comes with an extremely accurate digital pressure gauge, and also a braided hose with aluminum connectors so you can safely change between your Presta and Schrader valves.” Watch the video above for the full review.
