Legendary street trials rider Danny MacAskill continues to push the limits of what’s possible on a bicycle. His latest adventure took him to Africa where he brought his Lezyne GPS equipped mountain bike and attempted to summit the tallest mountain on the continent — Mount Kilimanjaro. Standing at over 19,000 feet (5,895 meters), the massive mountain offers breathtaking scenery and a punishing landscape. And let’s not forget the dangerously thin atmosphere. “It’s hard to really describe how the altitude really affects you,” MacAskill recalls. “You’re just burning the whole time — your lungs, your legs…”
A film crew followed Danny up the infamous peak and we’re extremely exited to offer an exclusive preview of his unforgettable journey. Danny recently signed a new two-year deal with us that includes our new GPS computers and this was the perfect experience for him to try out his new device. Stay tuned for the full story and video coming out in May 2017, because it’s about more than just reaching the top — says Danny, “For most people Kilimanjaro is about summiting, but for us it was more about the downhill we were going to get afterwards. I couldn’t wait to get on my bike.”
