Lezyne Partners with Danny MacAskill’s Drop and Roll Tour
As we all know by now, Danny MacAskill has been dazzling crowds all over the world as a professional trials rider ever since his breakthrough 5:30 minute YouTube video in 2009 when he was 23 years old. As of today, that video has garnered more than 34 million views. Since then, the Scottish rider, born in the Isle of Skye, has become a household name with features in publications such as the New York Times and numerous award nominations. And to think…he started off as a bicycle mechanic. We’re all fairly familiar with his ridiculously impressive and awe-inspiring YouTube videos that either keep us at the edges of our seats or captivated with wild amusement and even a sense of nostalgia, and last year Danny took it up a notch with the introduction of his street trials team, the Drop and Roll Tour. Made up of Duncan Shaw, Fabio Wibmer, Ali C and of course, Danny MacAskill, the team rocked crowds all over Europe, starting with their first show in Baden, Switzerland in June of 2014. The tour went on to stop at the Quay Commonwealth Games Festival in Glasgow, The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in Beauly (Inverness-shire), the Red Bull Air Race in Royal Ascot and Eurobike in Germany. As a sponsor of Danny MacAskill, Lezyne is proud to expand as a partner to the Drop and Roll Tour and will build and name a “Bunny Hop Contest” featuring an obstacle built of Lezyne Floor Pumps. Stay tuned, this team is going places!

After six years of collaboration with the COMMENCAL brand, COMMENCAL/Riding Addiction is honoured to announce the arrival of a new Andorran partner, Vallnord resort! Still managed by the Riding Addiction structure with Thibaut and Gaëtan RUFFIN, Remi Thirion and Myriam Nicole (winner of 2011 World Cup), the team has changed names and will now be known as COMMENCAL/VALLNORD to honour the two main partners. Its bike park, its different enduro trails and its sports complex, make VALLNORD an ideal playground for the team. In addition, Gaëtan VIGE, a promising young rider, joins the team and will evolve in the Junior category for the next two seasons. Lezyne is proud to continue its sponsorship with COMMENCAL/Vallnord!

For over 30 years, the Belgian National Lottery has been involved in professional cycling. Lotto riders have claimed over 760 victories making Lotto one of the most successful teams in professional cycling. Lezyne’s sponsorship of the Lotto Belisol team has been a great partnership. For 2015, Belisol has ended sponsorship of the team and Soudal has stepped in, which is Europe’s top manufacturer of sealants, adhesives and PU-foams since 1966. The newly renamed Lotto-Soudal team now continues with Tour de France stage winners Andre Greipel and Jurgen Van den Broeck, Grand Tour talents Jurgen Reolandts and Jelle Vanendert, as well as former Belgian National Road Champion Ludivine Henrion, and Cherise Taylor on the women’s team. The team also welcomes newcomers Jasper De Buyst and Thomas De Gendt. Lezyne is proud to continue this sponsorship and looks forward to many more victories to come for this strong and well-respected Belgian team.

The latest Col Collective video is now online, featuring the Passo Giau in Italy!
I guess it was only a matter of time before we’d awaken to a tearful sky, up until this point we’d definitely had lady luck on our side. Conditions can change in a heartbeat so I was hoping that the clouds would roll on by just as quickly as they’d descended on the Passo Giau. The Dolomites on a blue sky day are one of my favourite places to chase an endless horizon and escape the day, and are a place like no other on the planet. Sinuous roads, jagged peaks and steep gradients leave you breathless for all the right reasons but, hey, the show must go on right? It’s not over until we’re singing at the summit…..at least that’s what the voice in my head keeps telling me.
The latest Col Collective video, the beautiful (but beastly) Col du Glandon is now online here. Anyone that may be taking part in L’Etape du Tour in 2015 is really in for a treat (check out the last few km’s, this is what bike riding is all about) or if you’re simply visiting the Alps to bag some mountains then this has to be close to top of your list.
Sponsored rider Jordi Bago’s adventures continue down to San Diego, California, where he took off on the beautiful Ted Williams Bike Trail with his friend Herve from Ride 100% and photographer Harold from Imountainbike in tow. The ride included some beautiful views of the San Diego beaches and Poway on either side, as well as a variety of fairly technical terrain, with jumps and many rocky sections (including large boulders, some vertical) that tested the riders’ abilities.
The trail led them to Breeding Ground, an easier, more “fun” section with campers and many other riders, and then to Insanity which is a bit tougher, full of boulders and crazy cuts and turns. Jordi, being the pro that he is, provided his expertise to his two friends, to make it through this highly technical part!
Up next, the three plan to join Cedric Gracia for a riding camp in April.

Jordi Bago Visits the San Luis Obispo Lezyne Headquarters
Just in time for Halloween, sponsored rider Jordi Bago visited our hometown of San Luis Obispo, California, and hit up some of the beautiful trails the town has to offer for the many mountain bikers who live here. He was also shown around the Lezyne offices, and got a chance to see how products are designed and tested for final production.
Jordi also got a chance to sit in and see how Lezyne works as a 24-hour powerhouse, thanks to Skype, as a few of the 150 employees in the Taiwan offices arrived at work the next day and communicated with those in our San Luis Obispo offices before they headed home for the day.
Lezyne is constantly innovating new products for the next year’s release, and Jordi enjoyed a sneak peek on some of our conceptual models that are currently in development.
