Rest In Peace Kelly McGarry

Rest in Peace Kelly McGarry

Rest in Peace Kelly McGarry

We are all incredibly heartbroken today by the loss of Kelly McGarry. Nothing can truly describe the shock and sadness we all feel at Lezyne. Kelly was more than just an ambassador for us; he was a friend, a mountain bike brother and inspiration to us all. Though we were only lucky enough work with him for a short time, his charismatic smile and carefree attitude will forever leave a lasting impression on all of us.

The only thing greater than Kelly’s fearlessness was his personality. His larger-than-life presence was felt wherever he went, and his outgoing lifestyle made him a true rockstar of the action sports world. In his short time on this planet Kelly embraced life 1,000-percent while pushing the boundaries of mountain biking, surfing, motocross and many other extreme sports.

Kelly will be greatly missed by all of us, but he will live on in our hearts and forever inspire us to go big and live life to its fullest. Our sincerest thoughts and condolences go out to Kelly’s family and friends.

The world has lost a legend.
Rest in Peace, Kelly McGarry.

Love,
Everyone at Lezyne

Rally Cycling will continue the team’s long tradition of success on the racecourse while helping people make positive changes toward an active, healthy lifestyle. The original men’s program, under title sponsor Kelly Benefit Strategies, started in 2007 with a win at the USPRO Criterium National Championships – the only team in history to win the event in its first season.

“As the founding partner of the team, it is exciting to see the program take another step forward,” said John Kelly the president of Kelly Benefit Strategies. “Through the years we have enjoyed great results due to our amazing partners, dedicated staff and talented athletes. Under the direction of Olympians Jonas Carney, Eric Wohlberg, and Zach Bell, along with former WorldTour rider Patrick McCarty, the team has achieved major victories on the national and international stage. The men’s program took high profile wins at the Amgen Tour of California and Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, podiums at the USA Pro Challenge and Tour of Alberta, along with multiple Amgen Tour of California King of the Mountain jerseys. The team has also won its hometown race, the North Star Grand Prix, for five consecutive years.

At the international level, the team has found success with an historic podium at La Course by Le Tour de France and a fourth place at the UCI World Team Time Trial Championships in 2014. In addition, the team has had tremendous success abroad taking wins in Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Thailand and Uruguay. Three Lezyne Products win Design & Innovation Awards

It’s no coincidence that Lezyne rhymes with design. Every accessory, part, gadget and device that we produce is held to a certain standard of elegance and style. In an industry filled with copycats and complacency, we continually strive to not just standout, but to also be a trend leader. This approach is a huge part of what defines Lezyne and it can be seen throughout our entire catalog of products.

However, aesthetics is just one aspect of what makes a Lezyne product exceptional. It’s important, to say the least, but what we really crave is innovation. No matter how visually stimulating we make something, it still has to maintain a level of superior functionality.

These are the two elements that generate the lifeblood of Lezyne: Innovation and Design. We call this Engineered Design.

Engineered Design is the foundation of every Lezyne product. It represents our development strategies, our identity and our philosophies. Everything we create is held to this standard and is the result of a powerful in-house team of engineers, designers and forward-thinking project leaders. Lezyne is Engineered Design.

Fortunately, this commitment to product development and originality does not go unnoticed. We’re continually honored with glowing reviews, accolades and product shootout victories. Seeing our hard work validated by esteemed publications around the world is truly satisfying.

Our latest achievement was bestowed upon not one—nor two—but three Lezyne products: The Design & Innovation Award 2016. This exclusive award came from deep within the Dolomites and was spearheaded by a collection of 40 prominent industry individuals from 10 different countries. For two weeks this conglomeration of cycling elites tested, debated and contemplated hundreds of submissions from all corners of the bicycle world. And when it was all said and done three of our latest accessories came away with the award: Our Mini GPS cycling computer, Strip Drive taillight and Digital Over Drive floor pump.

Here are a few nice things they had to say about our winners:

Three Lezyne Products win Design & Innovation Awards - Digital Over Drive

Digital Over Drive:
“Lezyne have created a workshop legend.”

“The pump has enough volume to handle the latest plus and fat tires, and its powerful delivery seats tubeless tyres effectively.”

“The highlight is the ABS2 connector chuck, which makes connection to the valve a reliable and trouble-free process”

Three Lezyne Products win Design & Innovation Awards - Mini GPS

Mini GPS
“Its ultra-compact dimensions and super light weight mean you have the freedom to mount the Mini GPS anywhere you want.”

“In combination with a long battery life and a display that clearly presents only the important information, it will be a trusty companion on your adventures.”

Three Lezyne Products win Design & Innovation Awards - Strip Drive

Strip Drive Pro
“The unique aero- and round seatpost-compatible design and integrated cable-free USB charging boost usability.”

“The powerful daytime flash mode could be a potential lifesaver on the roads.”

“Making sure you’re clearly visible in dark and dismal conditions is a winter safety must, and the 300XL light set gets the job done in style.”

Outdoor Gear Lab Reviews the Lezyne Super GPS

Outdoor Gear Lab is the next to give our Super GPS some rave reviews! With side-by-side competitor comparisons and a hands-on review including setup, interface and use, features, best applications and value (it is the winner of their Best Buy Award, after all), our popular new cycling computer seems to be quite the hit with those behind the Cheyenne, Wyoming gear guide!

“The Lezyne Super GPS is a high end cycling computer with both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart connectivity. Lots of function at a low price has vaulted it into position as the winner of our Best Buy Award. No color touch screens here, just pure data and function. The screen and ride display layout are reminiscent of the Garmin Edge 500, but the overall aesthetic of the device is much different. The Lezyne Super GPS does not have map displays of any kind, but it does have impressive sensor compatibility and uses GPS and GLONASS satellites like the Garmin Edge 510 and Edge 520. If you are looking for a simple computer that can track data from almost any sensor on the market, then this is it.”

Mtbr Reviews the Lezyne Deca Drive 1500XXL

MTBR Reviews the Lezyne Deca Drive 1500XXL

Mtbr and RoadBikeReview recently published rundowns of the best lights on the market, titled 2016 Bike Lights Shootout (see them here, and here, respectively), and Mtbr whipped up a nice review for the Lezyne Deca Drive 1500XXL as part of it. Also included in these lists are the Micro Drive 400XL, Power Drive 900XL and Strip Drive Rear.

The Deca Drive 1500XXL was judged on items such as lumens, beam pattern, overall design and the elimination of field replaceable batteries, as well as all the goodies in the specs. We’d also love to think we have a “hidden mode” for our ultra tech savvy fans out there, but we aren’t that sneaky…we’d like to point out to Mtbr that this is our Overdrive mode, which gives you the 1500 lumen boost advertised on the light itself.

Mtbr completes their review with a mention that “there’s sweeping changes to the Lezyne line, but the bottom line is good optics and beam pattern are delivered,” noting the great value for the price. Read the entire review here.

Road.cc Reviews the Lezyne SV 10 Multi Tool

Once again, Road.cc has shown us some love! This time it’s for our SV 10 multi tool, which is an aluminum, low profile set of CNC machined tools with durable stainless steel fascinating hardware, a forged aluminum chain breaker and forged center-pivot stainless steel bits. This multi tool is optimized for modern component groups.

Road.cc says, “Lezyne are a company that have the ability to make a seemingly mundane product such as a pump or multi tool into an object of desire. They mix quality materials with well thought out design and an attention to detail, which result in objects that demand attention. This is certainly true of their SV10 multi tool, which packs, as you may have guessed, ten tools into a light (only 101 g), compact and attractive package.”

The popular online publication also included the tool in a rundown of the best multitools “to fit your bike’s bits.” Check that out here!
