Lezyne Gets Ready to Help the Team of the 4321 Challenge!

Lezyne Gets Ready to Help the Team of the 4321 Challenge!

If you haven’t heard of the “4321 Challenge,” then you probably should. Chrissie Wellington, 4-time Ironman World Champion and World Record Holder, has put together a team that will embark on one of their most challenging endeavors. The team (Alex Prince, Marcus Mumford, Matt Edwards and Chrissie) will be taking on the “Three Peaks Challenge,” but with a grueling twist on it. They will be running up and down the three highest peaks in the UK and cycling in between. That’s 27 miles of running up-and-down mountains and 450 miles of road cycling, if anyone was wondering. Oh, and did we mention they are doing this all within 48 hours?

The event is not just to put their bodies to the limit, though. They are doing it for charity as well! The team will be putting their bodies to the test in the hopes to raise money and awareness for The Rainbow Trust, who support the families of terminally ill children in the UK; and Jole Rider, who operate cycling development campaigns for children in the Gambia.

Lezyne is proud to participate in this event by providing the athletes with all the cycling lights and tools required to get them through their journey! The “4321 Challenge” will begin on Friday, May 2nd and continue until Sunday morning on the 4th.

For more details on the event visit the 4321 Challenge website and find out more about the charities The Rainbow Trust and Jole Rider.

Lotto-Belisol Ends Tour Down Under with a Bang!

Congratulations to Lotto-Belisol on their strong start to the season! The Tour Down Under finished with circuit through the streets of Adelaide today, and none other than André Greipel led the pack! Greipel’s sprint was set up by a strong Lotto-Belisol team effort to take the last stage of the Tour Down Under.

This wasn’t the only feat to talk about! Adam Hansen, who had a strong showing by finishing fourth in stage three, gave his home country an impressive performance. Hansen finished ninth at 37″ of winner Simon Gerrans with an unfortunate puncture holding him back in the final, but he was placed in the same time as the first group. The Aussie now gets to wear the KOM jersey around his home country!

Said André Greipel after the race:

“It was really good teamwork today. I actually didn’t need to do anything until the last two hundred meters, the guys took care of the rest. It was pretty hard to stay together on the circuit. Adam Hansen had a puncture in the last lap so we had to wait as long as possible to move to the front. Marcel Sieberg took the responsibility then to set up the lead-out train with 1,2 kilometers to go, that was the right decision. We had a lot of horsepower in the final kilometer.”

“I’m really happy with this second victory, it gives confidence. Staying healthy is the main goal, the rest will come. I’m super happy with my teammates, everybody had his part in the victory. This was a successful Tour Down Under for us. We have Hansen in the top ten and he also took the mountain jersey, so it has been a nice week. It’s a strength of this team that we all help each other, that’s what counts.”

Congratulations to the entire Lotto-Belisol squad and their strong start to the season!

André Greipel and Lotto-Belisol take first win of the Season!

Congratulations to André Greipel and the rest of team Lotto Belisol for their fast and successful start to the season! Lotto Belisol took their first win of the season with a stellar performance by André Greipel, who was the fastest in the fourth stage of the Tour Down Under, and teammates Jürgen Roelandts and Elia Viviani.

It is André Greipel’s 15th stage win ever, with more to come. Greipel commented after the win:

“For me this was the first real sprinter’s chance at the Tour Down Under. That today we not only take the stage win but also the second place with Jürgen Roelandts shows the strength of our team. This was a very strong collective performance. It was a nervous stage, with a lot of crosswind. At the right moment we raised the pressure which resulted in a split of the peloton. Of course I’m glad I could take my first victory. I knew the last climb and the final well, so I knew what we could expect. This well-deserved victory is great. The team is rewarded for its work. The confidence was there, but because of the victory we are all the more looking forward to the final stage on Sunday.”

Again, congratulations to the Lotto Belisol team! Cheers to continued success!
